About Us
Embark on a journey with our team of women who intimately understand the challenges of perimenopause.
As individuals who have traversed the spectrum of symptoms ourselves, we've dedicated considerable time to unraveling the myths surrounding this phase of life. We've discovered firsthand how menopause remains a topic veiled in secrecy, whispered in muted conversations.
Though strides have been made in dispelling the stigma, thanks in part to courageous figures like Davina McCall, there's still work to be done. That's why we undertook rigorous research and equipped ourselves with an Accredited Menopause Champion program from the Menopause Experts. Through this program, we've delved into the intricacies of hormonal shifts, the array of symptoms, the psychological impacts, and how it can influence relationships with loved ones and colleagues.
Armed with this accreditation, our mission is to create engaging and informative pop-up events centered around peri- and menopause. Our aim is to showcase the transformative power of food and nutrition in alleviating symptoms, all within a supportive environment conducive to open discussion.
Join us as we navigate this journey together, empowering each other with knowledge, camaraderie, and a shared love for good food.

Symptoms of
Menopause and Perimenopause
Menopause and perimenopause are stages in a woman's life cycle characterized by hormonal changes, which can lead to various symptoms. Perimenopause refers to the transitional phase leading up to menopause when hormonal fluctuations begin to occur. Here are some common symptoms associated with both perimenopause and menopause:
- Irregular periods: Changes in menstrual cycles, including shorter or longer cycles, heavier or lighter periods, or skipped periods, are common during perimenopause and can continue into menopause.
- Hot flashes: Sudden feelings of warmth, often accompanied by flushing and sweating, are a hallmark symptom of menopause. These can vary in intensity and frequency.
- Night sweats: Similar to hot flashes but occurring during sleep, night sweats can disrupt sleep patterns and contribute to fatigue.
- Vaginal dryness: Decreased estrogen levels can lead to thinning and dryness of the vaginal tissues, causing discomfort during intercourse and an increased risk of urinary tract infections.
- Mood changes: Hormonal fluctuations can contribute to mood swings, irritability, anxiety, and depression during perimenopause and menopause.
- Sleep disturbances: Changes in hormone levels can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or experiencing restful sleep.
- Weight gain: Metabolic changes associated with aging and hormonal fluctuations may lead to weight gain, particularly around the abdomen.
- Loss of libido: Changes in hormone levels and vaginal dryness can contribute to a decrease in sexual desire and discomfort during intercourse.
- Cognitive changes: Some women may experience memory lapses, difficulty concentrating, or "brain fog" during perimenopause and menopause, although the exact cause of these changes is not fully understood.
- Bone density loss: Decreased estrogen levels can contribute to bone loss and an increased risk of osteoporosis, especially in postmenopausal women.
It's important to note that not all women will experience all of these symptoms, and the severity and duration of symptoms can vary widely among individuals. Additionally, some symptoms may overlap with other medical conditions, so it's essential to consult a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management of symptoms.
